How we are complying with civil service reform – perm sec

The Permanent Secretary of Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development, Dr.Nasir Sani-Gwarzo, has said the ministry is successfully complying with  Federal Civil Service reforms through sensitisation of its staff.

Sani-Gwarzo said staff of the ministry undertook an orientation on Federal Civil Service and Implementation Plan 2021-2025, FCSSIP 25, to update them on the reforms and ensure the ministry is among the first to comply with them.

Represented by Director, Human Resource Management of the Ministry, Tokumbo Rufai, the Perm Sec spoke in Abuja at a one-day sensitisation workshop on culture change for the directorate cadre of the ministry.

“The outcome of the training has started yielding results as reflected in the fourth quarter of FCSSIP 25 tracking template of 2022 which is used to assess the performance of MDA’s,” he said.

He also commended the Department of Reforms Coordination and Service Improvement for the work they have been doing despite the lack of Manpower while urging them not to rest on their oars.

“This workshop therefore is starting with Directorate Cadre Officers which shows the enormous role you all have in changing the culture in the Ministry.

“Consequently, this one-day sensitization workshop will focus on managing change and re-tooling staff for better service delivery in the civil service.

“Furthermore, this workshop will expose you to leadership skills and effective management skills. I, therefore, urge you all to make the best use of this opportunity to brainstorm and further interrogate how best the dwindling culture in the Civil Service can be revitalized,” he said.
