The FCT Department of Outdoor Advertisement and Signages, DOAS, has said it will take all the commendations and criticism thrown at it and restrategise in the interest of the administration.
Director of the department, Dr. Baba-Gana Adams, stated this when he received the Icon and Cynosure of Greater Nigeria awards presented to him by a youth organisation.
The group, Nigerian Youth Organisation for Leadership and Rights Activation, NYOLRA, also conferred an award of Confidence on the Department of Outdoor Advertisement and Signage in recognition of the improvement recorded by the agency in the past three years.
President of the association, Gambo Muhammed, while stating the criteria used in selecting the Dr. Adams and his agency, said the recognition was out of landmark performance of the director which has boosted the revenue generation drive of the agency under the leadership of Adams.
He reiterated the innovative training and re-training program introduced by the leadership of Baba-Gana leadership squared among other reasons.
“This honour is a conceptualisation by our organisation to appreciate, eulogies and reward Nigerian leaders whose attribute, contributions and sacrifices are worthy of emulation. This is done in order to enhance good governance and leadership by membership in the society.
“Hence, after careful search you emerged as the undisputable choice for the Nigeria Heroes Platinum Award as Icon and Cynosure of greater Nigeria” and a “Vote of Confidence on DOAS” in recognition and appreciation of your tremendous strides as director, raising the fortune of the department in terms of revenue generation, from an insignificant department to one who generated in the excess of N500 million and have further set a target, despite the draw backs to generate a billion a feast deserving of commendation.”
Baba-Gana Adams, while accepting the honour done to him and his organisation, said the award would spurs him and his staff to do more.
He stressed such recognition would address some critics that never see any good thing in the work of DOAS, stressing that their negative energy also help in shaping the policy implementation of the organization.
