AMAC Chairman Calls for Unity and Peace During Eid Celebration

Abuja Municipal Area Council’s Executive Chairman, Hon. Christopher Zakka Maikalangu, extended warm greetings to Muslims in the council on the occasion of the Eid-el-Maulud celebrations. In his heartfelt message, he called upon all residents to uphold the fundamental values of peace, which lie at the core of the Islamic faith.

Maikalangu urged both Muslim faithful and other residents to contemplate their individual and collective roles in contributing to the creation of a nation they can take pride in. He emphasized the need to set aside differences in political, religious, and tribal affiliations and to reject violence or the promotion of chaos as means of resolving disputes.

“We must embrace the true essence and virtues of sacrifice, patience, tolerance, and fellowship in our interactions and dealings with fellow residents and all Nigerians,” the Chairman declared.

He emphasized the importance of dialogue in conflict resolution, urging residents to resist the influence of unpatriotic individuals or groups that seek to incite unrest, as such actions are counterproductive. Maikalangu reminded residents that the Federal Capital Territory was built upon a foundation of unity and tolerance for all Nigerians and that these principles should be embraced and practiced by all residents.

Furthermore, the Council Boss reassured residents of the administration’s commitment to ensuring adequate security during the Maulud celebrations. He called on residents to cooperate with security agencies by providing valuable information that would assist them in carrying out their duties effectively.

In conclusion, Hon. Christopher Zakka Maikalangu’s message resonates with the spirit of unity, peace, and cooperation, encouraging residents to foster harmonious relationships and contribute to the progress of the community during this Eid-el-Maulud celebration.
