The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje, has expressed confidence that the party will replicate its recent success in the Edo State governorship election in the upcoming polls in Ondo and Anambra states.
Speaking at the APC National Secretariat on Friday, Ganduje boasted that the same strategy that delivered victory for the party in Edo would be applied to secure wins in Ondo in November and Anambra in 2025. He made the remarks while formally closing down the party’s Situation Room, which was set up to monitor the proceedings of the Edo election.
“We are happy to have won the election; it was a difficult one because Governor Godwin Obaseki, who was once our member, knows much about the party. But despite the challenge, we succeeded in defeating him,” Ganduje said. He noted that the contest was like a “family feud” but credited the APC’s approach for securing the win.
Ganduje emphasized that the party’s strategy, which focused on convincing voters and safeguarding their votes, would be further refined for future elections.
“We are already developing strategies on how to win in Ondo, and we are also working on our agenda to strengthen the party’s presence in the South East,” he added.
The APC leader underscored the importance of expanding the party’s influence in the South East, where the ruling party currently controls only two states.
“It is unacceptable that the ruling party is limited to just two states in the South East,” he remarked.
