The GGSS/MGHS Alumni Association in the Diaspora, Inc. aims to advance the mutual welfare of GGSS/MGHS and its alumni in the Diaspora. As in previous years, the Association’s President, Dr. Anne Medinus Benibo reiterated that “These awards are given in fulfillment of the Association’s third objective, which is to provide opportunities for alumni to remain connected and to serve the school. In fulfillment of the Association’s Cardinal Project number 1, scholarships were awarded to two Indigent students to enable them to stay in school and towards the attainment of Sustainable Development Goal 1: End Extreme Poverty. To empower the future generation of girls and motivate them to pursue careers in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics, monetary awards were also given to students who excelled in all areas. This is also in fulfillment of the Association’s Cardinal Project 3 and the attainment of Sustainable Development Goal 5: Gender Equality. We cherish our experiences at GGSS, a public school which evolved into MGHS, a private parochial school.” We appreciate Barrister Amadi and Gladys Gilbert for taking the time off their busy schedules to select the awardees based on the Association’s stated criteria and present the awards at the MGHS’ graduation ceremony. Special thanks to Angelina Oumo, the Chair of the Association’s Awards Committee for convincing Barrister Amadi to represent us again.
