Ondo Guber Polls: Ododo Hails Aiyedatiwa’s Win

Kogi State Governor, Ahmed Usman Ododo, has congratulated Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa of the All Progressives Congress (APC) on his victory in the recently concluded Ondo State Governorship election.

In a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Media, Ismaila Isah, Governor Ododo praised the hard work and strategic planning by the APC leadership and members, which he said were instrumental in securing Aiyedatiwa’s win. As the deputy chairman of the election management and strategy committee in the Ondo State Governorship Campaign Council, Ododo highlighted the commitment of the party to retaining power in Ondo State.

The Kogi State Governor, who coordinated election operations in the Ondo North Senatorial District from Owo, expressed optimism about Aiyedatiwa’s ability to build on the APC’s development record in Ondo. He described Aiyedatiwa as a trusted leader who would continue enhancing infrastructure, social welfare, and security across the state.

“We have known Governor Aiyedatiwa. He has been tested and can be trusted to continue the good work of the APC administration in Ondo State,” Governor Ododo stated, adding that he was confident in Aiyedatiwa’s potential to succeed with this new mandate, which reinforces the APC’s popularity in Ondo.

Governor Ododo also commended the people of Ondo, including non-indigenous communities, for their peaceful conduct throughout the election process, assuring that their support would be duly recognized and rewarded by the government. He urged residents to support Aiyedatiwa as he prepares to begin his full term in office in February 2025.

Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa was declared the winner of the November 16, 2024, Ondo State Governorship election, securing 366,781 votes to defeat his closest rival, Hon. Agboola Ajayi of the People’s Democratic Party, who received 117,845 votes.
