At least four persons sustained various degrees of injuries following the collapse of a segment of the popular Samsung building at the Wuse 2 area of the Federal Capital Territory.
The Pent House segment of the building located at Banex Junction, Aminu Kano Crescent, Wuse 2, reportedly collapsed during casting, with ten workers said to be affected.
This is coming barely one year after the Samsung building was gutted by fire, in November 2023..
A statement by the Head, Public Affairs of FCT Emergency Management Department, FEMD, Nkechi Isa, disclosed that though no life was lost to the incident, four construction workers however sustained minor injuries.
According to FEMD, “The incident occurred when the Pent House segment of the three story building collapsed during casting.
“No life was lost to the incident.
However four out of the ten construction workers on site sustained minor injuries.
The four injured workers have been taken to the Wuse General Hospital for treatment.
“Recall that the Samsung building was gutted by fire on the 6th of November 2023.”
The Ag Director General of the FCT Emergency Management Department, Engr. Abdulrahman Mohammed, appealed to developers to adhere to the building code, while also ensuring site safety.
The FEMD Boss appealed to residents to use the 112 emergency toll free number in the event of a disaster.
