An unfortunate incident happened at the Kutunku area of Gwagwalada, in Gwagwalada Area Council on Saturday, when a man reportedly died while breaking his Ramadan fast.
The deceased, identified as Abdulrasheed Usman, slumped after he joined three of his friends to break their fast.
A witness, Suleiman Bala, said Usman and his friends were sitting on a bench eating fruits when he suddenly fell down. The friends immediately took him on a bike to a nearby hospital, where the doctor on duty confirmed him dead.
According to him, the late Usman, who was hale and hearty, returned from Kaduna at about 5:47pm and rushed to join his friends to break his fast when the incident happened.
“One of his brothers said the deceased returned from Kaduna and went to join his friends where they normally relaxed. And when the Magrib prayer was called, he joined them to breakfast and it was in the process that the incident happened,’’ the witness said.
He said the remains of the deceased had been buried according to Islamic rites.
