The National Working Committee, NWC, of the All Progressives Congress, APC, has announced that the party will use an indirect primary to select its candidate for the 2025 Anambra governorship election.
This was disclosed by the party’s National Secretary, Surajudeen Ajibola Basiru, shortly after it’s NWC meeting, where members reviewed the ongoing preparations for the election scheduled for November 8, 2025.
The party clarified that an earlier advertisement suggesting the adoption of a direct primary was incorrect, as no official decision had been made until now.
To ensure transparency, the APC has scheduled a stakeholders’ meeting at its national headquarters next Tuesday. The meeting will include party leaders, aspirants, and state caucus members to discuss the decision.
The party also dismissed claims that the NWC had endorsed any aspirant, emphasizing its commitment to a fair contest for all candidates.
