As preparations intensify ahead of the 2026 area council elections, the chairman of Abuja Municipal Area Council, AMAC, Hon. Christopher Maikalangu, has assured of his of his renewed commitment to service delivery, development, and citizen empowerment.
Maikalangu, in a statement titled “A New Chapter: Building on Progress,” unveiled his plans for his second term in office, which he said will pay more attention on education, healthcare, and economic empowerment.
The chairman in the statement he personally signed himself, expressed gratitude for the trust reposed in him by residents and pledged to consolidate on the gains recorded during his first tenure.
“My commitment to public service remains unwavering, and I am dedicated to building on the progress we have made so far,” he said.
While pointing that education, healthcare, and economic empowerment will remain focal points of his agenda, the chairmen assured AMAC residents of intensified efforts to improve quality of life.
“We will prioritize projects and initiatives that address the needs of our community,” he stated, emphasizing that AMAC would remain a place where people “can live, work, and thrive.”
Maikalangu also underscored the need for inclusive governance, pledging to work with traditional leaders, community groups, and individuals to unlock development opportunities.
“My administration will continue to prioritize programs and initiatives that promote inclusiveness, equity, and social justice,” he added.
Reaffirming his commitment to transparency, accountability, and citizen engagement, the chairman vowed to deepen interactions with residents and ensure every voice is heard. “We will work to build a strong and vibrant community, where every citizen feels valued, respected, and empowered.”
