In recognition of his contributions to the development of Nigeria’s capital city, the Director of Development Control Department, Tpl Mukhtar Galadima, was on Monday 19th May, 2025, turbaned as the Madaki Gini of Gumel by the Gumel Emirate Council.
Coordinator, of Abuja Metropolitan Management Council, AMMC, Chief Felix Amechi Obuah, who witnessed the colourful ceremony was full of praises for the Director, stating that the title aptly portrays Galadima’ unshakeable stance position in upholding the sanctity of the Abuja Master Plan.
Obuah, while pointing out the most endearing characteristics of the director, charged him not to relent in his efforts of ensuring strict adherence to town planning laws and building regulations in the FCT.
The seasoned civil servant has been instrumental in implementing policies aimed at maintaining the integrity of the Abuja Master Plan, including the demolition of illegal structures and the enforcement of building regulations.
Tpl Mukhtar Galadima has been honored with several chieftaincy titles across various communities in Nigeria in recognition of his selfless service and immense contributions to urban development.
Some of his tittles include the Wazirin Katsina-Ala and the Makaman Katsina-Ala, both from Benue State, Talban Gassol, as well as the Dan Malikin Ibi both from Taraba state, and the Sarkin Kudun Jimeta from Adamawa State.
His latest traditional title, Madakin Gini of Gumel (loosely translates as defender of buildings) emanates from Gumel Emirate Council in Jigawa State.
