The National Examinations Council, NECO, has debunked an online publication claiming that the Council is planning to recruit new staff, describing it as false and misleading.
In a statement issued on Wednesday by its Acting Director of Information and Public Relations, Azeez Sani, NECO urged members of the public to disregard the report, stressing that the Council has no plan to embark on any recruitment exercise.
According to Sani, the publication is the handiwork of fraudsters intent on deceiving unsuspecting Nigerians.
“The publication is the product of the imagination of fraudsters who are out to defraud members of the public,” he said.
He assured that under the leadership of the Registrar and Chief Executive, Prof. Dantani Ibrahim Wushishi, NECO would always follow due process and abide by extant laws whenever the Federal Government grants approval for recruitment.
The Council also advised the public to be wary of fake recruitment advertisements and to always rely on its official communication channels for authentic information.
