Oyebanji boasts 80% project completion, targets tech-driven schools

…Says Ekiti APC united ahead of 2026

Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji, says his administration has completed about 80 per cent of inherited projects across the state and will prioritise education by introducing electronic boards in all schools.

The governor made this known after submitting his nomination and expression of interest forms at the All Progressives Congress National Secretariat in Abuja on Wednesday. He was accompanied by the Senate Leader, Michael Opeyemi Bamidele, and other stakeholders.

Oyebanji told journalists that his government had reconnected more than 60 communities to the national grid after years of blackout, upgraded healthcare facilities, aligned doctors’ salaries with federal standards, and sustained the payment of pensions and gratuities.

He added that his administration had laid the foundation for productivity through infrastructure, electricity and healthcare, stressing that trust in leadership was central to his performance.

On alleged cracks within the party, the governor dismissed the claims as “propaganda,” insisting that the APC in Ekiti remained “united and indivisible.” He also maintained that his relationship with former governor Kayode Fayemi was cordial, noting that Fayemi would attend the forthcoming stakeholders’ meeting in the state.

Bamidele, who also spoke at the secretariat, commended Oyebanji for delivering on infrastructure and human capital development, saying the broad consensus behind his re-election was unprecedented. He expressed confidence that the governor would emerge victorious at the APC primaries slated for October 27.
