President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the immediate construction of two 300-capacity hostels for the Nigerian Law School, Abuja, as well as a major access road linking the Body of Benchers Secretariat in Jabi District with Nile University.
According to the Senior Special Assistant on Public Communications and Social Media to the FCT Minister, Lere Olayinka, the directive was conveyed through the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, who has been instructed to commence the projects under emergency consideration.
Olayinka, who disclosed this in a statement on Tuesday, said the initiative would provide the much needed accommodation for students of the Nigerian Law School, Abuja, with one female hostel and one male hostel, each designed to house 300 occupants.
He added that the new access road, when completed, will ease traffic congestion in the area, particularly on the stretch leading to the headquarters of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC.
Part of the statement reads, “President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has directed the Minister of Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Nyesom Wike, to immediately commence the construction of two hostels of 300 capacity each for the Nigerian Law School, Abuja.
“The President also directed the construction of the road linking the Body of Benchers Secretariat, Jabi District with Nile University.”
He explained that the road, when completed, will ease traffic congestion on the road leading to the head office of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Olayinka stated.
