The Federal Capital Territory Police Command says it has arrested 11 suspected drug dealers and recovered 68 bags of substances believed to be cannabis in a series of operations across Abuja.
The command disclosed this in a press release issued on Saturday by its spokesperson, SP Josephine Adeh, noting that the arrests were made by the Anti-Narcotics Unit during raids on identified drug black spots.
According to the statement, the coordinated operations are part of efforts to disrupt criminal supply networks and tackle drug-fueled crimes within the FCT.
Part of the statement reads, “These arrests mark a major step forward in dismantling criminal supply chains, curbing drug-induced crimes, and ensuring that harmful substances are kept away from our communities. The Command remains committed to intensifying its operations against drug-related offences.”
The police called on residents to support the ongoing crackdown by providing timely and useful information through its emergency lines: 08061581938, 08032003913, or the Complaints Response Unit (CRU) number, 08107314192.
