Ahead of the Osun State governorship election slated for August 8, 2026, aspirants vying for the ticket of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, are to purchase the Expression of Interest and Nomination forms for ₦50 million.

The party has also fixed its primary election for Saturday, December 13, 2025.

In a released Schedule of Activities and Timetable for the 2026 Osun State election, the APC National Organising Secretary, Alhaji Sulaiman Muhammad Argungu, stated that the Nomination Form carries a fee of ₦40 million, while aspirants are required to pay ₦10 million for the Expression of Interest Form.

The party, however, granted concessions to certain categories of aspirants. Female aspirants and persons with disabilities (PWDs) are to pay only for the Expression of Interest Form as the Nomination Form is free, while youths aged 25 to 40 will purchase both forms with a 50 percent discount on the nomination fee.

The timetable shows that the notice of election will be given to the state chapter on Friday, October 3, 2025, while membership register updates will run from October 20 to 31, 2025. The sale of Expression of Interest and Nomination Forms will commence on November 12 and end on November 26, 2025, with the final deadline for submission of completed forms fixed for December 1, 2025.

Screening of aspirants is scheduled for December 3–4, 2025, with the publication of screening results on December 5. Appeals on screening will be heard between December 6 and 7, while the delegates’ congress is slated for December 9, followed by appeals on December 10.

The governorship primary election will hold on Saturday, December 13, 2025, with appeals scheduled for December 14. A special congress to ratify the result of the primary, in line with the Electoral Act, is also fixed for the same day.

The collection of access codes for submission of nomination forms will begin on January 19, 2026, while the submission of nominated candidates’ lists to the National Working Committee (NWC) is scheduled for January 22, 2026. The final list of candidates will be submitted to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on February 11, 2026.

Campaigns by the party will officially commence on March 11, 2026, with the submission of polling agents’ names to INEC slated for June 23. The timetable further fixed August 6, 2026, as the final day of campaign activities ahead of the Osun governorship election.

Members aspiring to serve as delegates are expected to purchase delegate forms at ₦5,000 each, provided they have been financial members of the party for at least three months before the congress.
