A top Abuja veterinary doctor has been murdered in his home in Kubwa while three of his children were kidnapped.
Kubwa is a bustling town barely 15 kilometres from the city centre.
The former chairman of the Nigerian Veterinary Medical Association, NVMA FCT chapter, Dr. Ifeanyi Ogbu, was found dead by the roadside hours after the kidnapping.
His wife and other family members survived the ordeal.
Eyewitnesses and colleagues expressed shock and grief over the murder, describing Dr. Ogbu as a dedicated professional whose loss leaves the veterinary community in mourning.
Andrew Gabriel Ikechukwu, who shared the news on Facebook, prayed for the safe return of the children, calling on authorities to intervene swiftly.
This incident follows the recent death of Somtochukwu Maduagwu, an Arise TV anchor, highlighting rising concerns over security in the nation’s capital.
The police have launched investigations into both cases, while citizens demand stronger measures to protect family.
