The Nigerian Air Force, NAF, has commissioned a new Headquarters Annex in Gudu, Abuja, aimed at reducing congestion at its main headquarters in Garki and improving staff welfare.
In a statement, Director of Public Relations and Information, Headquarters, Nigerian Air Force, Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, said the annex will strengthen institutional capacity, enhance coordination, and boost productivity. He added that the facility also supports the Air Force’s operational readiness in defending the nation.
Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Hasan Bala Abubakar, said the annex was designed to provide a conducive work environment for key departments, including the Air Secretary, Standards and Evaluation, Transformation and Innovation, and Personnel Management Group. “The commissioning of the HQ NAF Annex stands as a testament to our dynamism, resilience, and forward-looking posture,” he said.
The commissioning ceremony was attended by top military officials and lawmakers, including the Acting Chairman Senate Committee on Air Force, Senator Augustine Akobundu, and Chairman House Committee on Air Force, Honourable Kabiru Al-Hassan Rurum.
The Minister of Defence, Dr. Mohammed Badaru Abubakar, officially dedicated the new facility to the glory of God and the service of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
