A former staff of the defunct New Nigerian Newspaper, Alhaji Yakubu Abdullahi, has appealed to the Inspector General of Police, IGP, and the FCT Administration to assist him in recovering his building allegedly taken over forcefully by one Mr Collins Eseleom.
The said building, which had two units of two bedroom apartment, before being converted by the said Eseleom to a hotel, is located at Road 69, Plot 750, Gwarinpa Abuja.
Abdullahi told newsmen in Abuja that the house was handed over to him by his brother and he rented it to Eseleom in 2018, but he has since refused to renew his rent since then.
Abdullahi, who is also the Managing Director of Eness Investment Communication, stated that security agencies had been used to torment him on the issue saying all attempt to get justice when he reported the matter to the FCT Command of the Nigeria Police Force proved abortive.
According to him, illegal activities are currently being carried out at the building while his life is being threatened by the said Eseleom.
“My younger brother who is currently based in Lagos, Alhaji Adamu Abdulramoh gifted me the two sets of the two bedrooms apartment in 2017 which I later rented out to Mr Collins Eseleom through an agent in September, 2018 for one million naira and upon the expiration of his rent refused to renew and concerted the building to hotel before my arrival from a medical trip in 2019.
“I had a medical challenge in that 2018 that involved traveling outside the country for a surgery and upon my return after a successful operation in.2019, I discovered that Mr Collins Eseleom has converted the two sets of the two bedrooms apartment to a hotel where all manners of illegal activities are being carried out.
“Several times, he has used security agencies to threaten me on my property asking me to stay clear from it,” he said.
Abdullahi therefore appealed to the Inspector General of Police and the FCT Administration to come to his aide as he possesses all the genuine and original documents to the property.
Reacting, Eseleom denied the allegations, stating that the property in question belongs to him.
