The Agricultural Research Council of Nigeria has taken steps to strengthen internal security at the council through collaboration with the Nigerian Police Force.
The move followed a meeting between the Executive Secretary of the council, Dr Abubakar Adamu Dabban, and the Divisional Police Officer of Wuye Division, CSP Mary Usman, at the ARCN headquarters in Abuja.
In a statement issued on Tuesday by the council’s spokesperson, Khadijat Ameen, Dabban commended the police for their efforts in managing internal security challenges and fostering peace in the society.
According to the statement, the Executive Secretary stressed the need for professionalism and ethical conduct among police officers, while highlighting the importance of collaboration between security agencies in addressing insecurity.
“The Executive Secretary emphasised the need for professionalism and ethical conduct of officers and underscored the importance of collaboration with relevant agencies in the fight against insecurity,” the statement said.
On her part, the statement noted that the Divisional Police Officer reaffirmed the commitment of the Nigerian Police Force to the protection of lives and property.
It added that patrols and other security measures had been put in place to ensure the safety of residents of the Federal Capital Territory and the nation at large.
