Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun, has been commended for overseeing what party leaders described as peaceful, transparent and inclusive ward and local government congresses of the All Progressives Congress, APC, across the state.
In a statement issued in Abuja on Sunday, Aare (Hon.) Tolu Bankole praised the governor’s leadership, saying the congresses were conducted without rancour in all wards and the 20 local government areas of the state.
He said the exercise showed that the APC in Ogun State was united and firmly under stable leadership, noting that the process was calm and orderly at party secretariats and collation centres.
According to him, reports from across the state indicated that the congresses were free, fair and peaceful, with broad participation of party members and stakeholders.
Bankole said Abiodun’s inclusive approach helped to carry all stakeholders along and prevented disputes that often trail party congresses.
He also commended other party leaders and stakeholders for their support, which he said contributed to the success of the exercise.
The APC chieftain congratulated the newly elected ward and local government party executives and urged them to uphold the party’s ideals of progressivism, inclusivity, accountability and selfless service.
He called on party members to maintain the same spirit of unity and cooperation as the party prepares for its state congress.
“The success of these congresses shows that we are stronger together,” he said.
