NEMA delivers relief materials to Maiduguri explosion victims

The National Emergency Management Agency has delivered medical supplies and relief materials to victims of the recent explosions in Maiduguri, Borno State.

The Director-General of NEMA, Zubaida Umar, led the distribution on Wednesday during a visit to the state alongside Vice President Kashim Shettima.

The agency provided medical consumables to support the treatment of injured victims, as well as food and non-food items for affected families.

At the University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital, where some victims are receiving treatment, the Vice President said the supplies were provided by the Federal Government through NEMA to aid ongoing medical care.

Shettima also sympathised with the victims and assured them of the government’s commitment to their recovery.

Other officials present during the visit included the Deputy Governor of Borno State, Umar Kadafur, and the Chairman of the Senate Committee on Special Duties, Senator Kaka Shehu Lawan.

The intervention, according to NEMA, is part of efforts to provide timely humanitarian assistance to victims of emergencies across the country.
