The FCT Commissioner of Police, CP Ahmed Sanusi, has taken measures to address rising tensions between residents of Kuchi-Bena Village and Winning Court Estate in Lifecamp.
The police boss, who visited both communities on an assessment tour, also ordered immediate reinforcement of security presence following an on-the-spot evaluation of the situation.
During the visit, Sanusi inspected a newly built police outpost in Winning Court Estate, and directed that additional personnel be deployed to man the facility and strengthen operational coverage.
Police Public Relations Officer of the Command Josephine Adeh, in a statement, announced that the CP has also scheduled a meeting with community leaders from both Kuchi-Bena Village and the estate, in a bid to promote peaceful coexistence and mediate emerging disagreements between indigenes and residents.
She added that the Commissioner ordered intelligence-led raids and intensified patrols across the area to prevent criminal activities and sustain police visibility.
The Command said the measures are part of efforts to stabilise the axis and reassure residents of improved security presence.
Residents were urged to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities to the nearest police station or through emergency lines: 08032003193, 08061581938.
