Ex-FCTA director enters race for Wukari/Ibi reps seat

A former director of the Federal Capital Territory Administration’s Development Control Department, Muktar Galadima, has joined the race for the Wukari/Ibi federal constituency after purchasing the Peoples Democratic Party nomination and expression of interest forms.
Galadima picked up the forms at the PDP secretariat in Jalingo on Wednesday, marking his formal entry into the contest ahead of the 2027 general election.
Speaking with journalists shortly after, he said he was confident in his capacity to represent the constituency and deliver quality leadership if elected.
He told reporters that his prospects at the polls would be decided by his constituents, not by the political posture of the ruling All Progressives Congress in Taraba State.
“I am very happy today because the process towards actualisation of my dream of giving my people good leadership is in top gear.
“I have just purchased my nomination and expression of interest form today, and I am overwhelmed by the support and goodwill I have received from the people of Wukari/Ibi.
“My intention and aspiration are based on my people’s clarion call for better representation at the National Assembly, bearing in mind my track record of services at the FCTA. I am very confident of my victory come 2027, and I call on my people not to be disturbed, especially as they have the power to decide who gets what in the elections,” he said.
Galadima, who hails from Ibi LGA, is a town planner and retired from the FCTA nine years ago. Until recently, he served as senior special assistant on development control to FCT Minister Nyesom Wike before resigning to pursue his legislative bid.
