The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board has fixed Saturday, June 13, 2026, for the conduct of the mop-up Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination, UTME, for candidates who were unable to sit the examination during the main exercise despite being biometrically verified.
The board disclosed that the mop-up examination would cater for candidates affected by technical challenges at some examination centres, those whose results were withdrawn over examination infractions, as well as candidates who could not be biometrically verified during the main examination.
The 2026 UTME was conducted nationwide between April 16 and April 23, 2026.
According to a statement issued by JAMB’s Public Communication Advisor, Fabian Benjamin, the mop-up exercise represents the final phase of the annual UTME process and is aimed at resolving all outstanding issues involving candidates who genuinely presented themselves for the examination but encountered difficulties.
Benjamin said affected candidates would be able to begin printing their Examination Notification Slips from Saturday, June 6, 2026.
He urged all eligible candidates to print their slips early, familiarise themselves with their examination centres, and make adequate logistical arrangements ahead of the examination date.
The JAMB spokesman stressed that the mop-up examination would be the last opportunity for affected candidates to participate in the 2026 UTME, warning that no further examination would be conducted after the exercise.
“The mop-up examination represents the final phase of the annual UTME exercise and serves as an opportunity to address all outstanding examination challenges involving candidates who duly presented themselves but encountered difficulties in taking the examination,” he stated.
