A member of the National Working Committee of the All Progressives Congress, Aare Hon. Tolu Bankole, has congratulated Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji, on his re-election, describing the outcome as a historic endorsement of the governor’s leadership and development agenda.
In a statement issued on Sunday in Abuja, Bankole said Oyebanji’s victory reflected the confidence of the people in his administration’s performance across critical sectors of the state’s economy.
He noted that the governor’s re-election marked a significant milestone in the political history of Ekiti State, as Oyebanji became the first incumbent governor in the state’s contemporary democratic era to secure re-election for a second consecutive term.
According to the results announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission, Oyebanji of the APC polled 319,224 votes to defeat his closest rivals, Oluwole Oluyede of the Peoples Democratic Party, who secured 40,543 votes, and Dare Bejide of the African Democratic Congress, who scored 12,872 votes.
Bankole commended the people of Ekiti State for what he described as their political maturity, peaceful conduct and commitment to democratic values throughout the electoral process.
He said the outcome of the election demonstrated widespread support for the governor’s people-centred policies, including investments in infrastructure, agriculture, education, healthcare, youth empowerment and rural development.
The APC chieftain also expressed appreciation to President Bola Tinubu for his support and leadership, noting that the administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda continued to inspire development initiatives across the country.
He further commended the leadership of the APC at the national and state levels, party members, campaign teams, volunteers and supporters for their contributions to the victory.
Bankole also praised INEC and security agencies for ensuring a peaceful and credible election, saying their professionalism contributed significantly to the successful conduct of the poll.
He expressed confidence that Oyebanji’s second term would consolidate ongoing development programmes and deliver greater dividends of democracy to the people of Ekiti State.
According to him, the renewed mandate is a clear affirmation of the APC’s progressive ideals and the governor’s commitment to improving the welfare of residents.
He urged stakeholders across the state to support the administration as it embarks on another four-year term aimed at advancing growth and development.
