Pastor Titilayo Adewale, daughter of the founder of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pa Josiah Olufemi Akindayomi, has dismissed claims that she criticised the church’s leadership over the handling of her father’s legacy.
In a statement shared on her Facebook page, Adewale said a message circulating online and attributed to her was fabricated and did not reflect her views on the church, its leadership or the legacy of her late father.
She maintained that her father was never motivated by public recognition or material achievements, stressing that the impact he made in the lives of people remains his greatest legacy.
According to her, it would be inconsistent to suggest that the church’s founder desired monuments or buildings bearing his name, recalling that he placed little value on earthly possessions during his lifetime.
Adewale said attempts to portray her as being dissatisfied with the church’s leadership were misleading and designed to create unnecessary controversy within the Christian community.
She urged members of the public to disregard the false claims and refrain from spreading unverified information capable of causing division within the church.
The cleric’s daughter also reaffirmed her support for the General Overseer of the RCCG, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, praying for divine wisdom, strength and continued guidance for him, his family and the church’s leadership.
She further wished members of the RCCG a successful annual convention, expressing hope for continued unity and progress in the church.
