NDIC wins 2026 pillar of integrity in public service award

The Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation, NDIC, has won the 2026 Pillar of Integrity in Public Service Award for its commitment to ethics, transparency and accountability in the public sector.

The award, presented by Verbatim Print & Broadcast Limited in partnership with the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission, ICPC, recognised the Corporation’s strong performance in the 2025 Ethics and Integrity Compliance Scorecard, EICS.

The NDIC emerged second overall in the 2025 EICS, an integrity assessment framework developed by the ICPC to strengthen ethical standards, accountability and anti-corruption practices across Ministries, Departments and Agencies of the Federal Government.

The scorecard assesses public institutions across four key areas: Management Culture and Structure, Financial Management System, Administrative Systems and Anti-Corruption Initiatives.

Speaking at the award ceremony in Abuja, ICPC Chairman, Dr. Musa Adamu Aliyu, SAN, represented by the Director, Systems Study and Review Department, Olusegun Adigun, said integrity remained critical to strengthening public institutions, restoring citizens’ confidence and driving national development.

Aliyu, in his keynote address titled, “The Power of Integrity in National Development: Strengthening Public Institutions, Restoring Trust and Driving Prosperity,” emphasised the importance of ethical conduct and accountable governance in building effective public institutions.

NDIC’s Head of Communication and Public Affairs, Hawwau Gambo represented the Managing Director/Chief Executive of the NDIC, Dr. Thompson Oludare Sunday.

The honour places NDIC among public institutions demonstrating commitment to institutional integrity.
