Wike’s development strides earns him a place in history – Gwagwalada Monarch

The Aguma of Gwagwalada, Alhaji Muhammadu Magaji, has predicted that the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, will earn a place in Nigeria’s history alongside prominent national figures such as Ahmadu Bello, Abubakar Tafawa Balewa, Nnamdi Azikiwe and Obafemi Awolowo.
The traditional ruler said Wike’s interventions in the FCT, particularly the revival of abandoned infrastructure projects, had demonstrated his commitment to development and improved the lives of residents.
Magaji made the remarks on Monday during the commissioning of the Gwagwalada Civic Centre, where he commended the minister for ensuring the completion of the facility after more than 16 years of abandonment.
He described the project as a significant milestone for Gwagwalada, noting that its completion would provide lasting benefits to residents irrespective of their political affiliations.
The monarch also praised Wike for directing the resumption of work on abandoned projects across the FCT, saying the minister’s determination to complete inherited projects had helped restore public infrastructure that had remained unused for years.
Beyond infrastructure, Magaji welcomed the growing cooperation between political stakeholders in the area, particularly the convergence of APC and PDP leaders under the Rainbow Coalition.
He said the alliance demonstrated that political differences could be set aside in pursuit of peace, unity and development, expressing hope that the cooperation would translate into greater progress for Gwagwalada and the FCT.
The traditional ruler urged residents and political leaders to sustain the spirit of unity and support initiatives aimed at advancing development in the territory.
