We’ll receive you soon —Ganduje mocks Lamido

By Laraba Murey

The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Dr Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, has dismissed claims that he is planning to return to the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, saying instead that the PDP is already dead.

Ganduje was reacting to a recent comment by former Jigawa State governor, Sule Lamido, who said the APC would soon break apart and its leaders, including Ganduje, would find their way back to the PDP.

But in a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Edwin Olofu, on Sunday in Abuja, Ganduje said he had no intention of returning to what he described as a “failing opposition.”

“Rather than me going to the PDP, we will soon receive Sule Lamido into our party. He won’t have anywhere else to go,” Ganduje said.

He added that the PDP, due to its internal crises, would not survive beyond 2025.

“The PDP is dead,” he said. “It is clear to everyone paying attention that under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the APC is growing stronger. Many politicians across the country are joining us.”

Ganduje also said the APC is preparing for a big win in the 2027 general elections.

“We are focused on building our achievements and making sure we stay united,” he said.

The APC chairman said he is proud to lead what he called the largest political party in Nigeria and Sub-Saharan Africa.

He advised Lamido to focus on fixing problems in the PDP rather than spreading what he called baseless rumours.

“Under my leadership, APC will stay focused, united, and committed to delivering good governance to Nigerians,” he added.
