The Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Hassan Bala Abubakar, on Thursday said the Nigerian Air Force, NAF, had procured over 70 vehicles in the past year to support operations and administration across its bases.
In a statement by the Director of Public Relations and Information, Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, the Air Chief spoke at the Third Quarter Defence Headquarters and Services Transformation Seminar in Abuja.
He said the new vehicles are part of efforts to improve logistics and boost the welfare of personnel. Abubakar also announced massive accommodation projects, new medical facilities, and insurance packages for officers and men.
The Air Chief added that the initiatives aim to improve morale, readiness, and ensure personnel are physically and mentally prepared for duties.
He further disclosed that the NAF had revived the NAF Surveillance Aircraft Eagle Project to promote self-reliance in aerospace technology and local innovation.
Abubakar thanked President Bola Tinubu for providing modern platforms and the enabling environment for the military to perform its duties.
Earlier, the Chief of Transformation and Innovation, Air Vice Marshal AH Amesinlola, said the seminar was aimed at generating new ideas to improve collaboration and tackle security challenges in the country.
