MNJTF commander visits Operation Hadin Kai, commissions officers’ facility

The Force Commander of the Multi-National Joint Task Force, Maj.-Gen. Saidu Audu, has paid a strategic operational visit to the Headquarters of the Joint Task Force, Operation Hadin Kai, at Maimalari Military Cantonment, Maiduguri, according to a statement.

The statement, signed by the Media Information Officer, Headquarters Theatre Command, Joint Task Force (North East) Operation Hadin Kai, Lt.-Col. Sani Uba, said the visit was aimed at strengthening coordination ahead of joint operations in the Lake Chad Basin.

Uba said Audu explained that the visit was to formally introduce himself as the new Force Commander of the MNJTF and to deepen collaboration with Operation Hadin Kai.

“Collaboration, sustained vigilance and continuous monitoring are critical to stabilising the Lake Chad Basin,” the statement quoted Audu as saying.

The statement said Audu commended the Theatre Commander, Maj.-Gen. Abdulsalam Abubakar, for what he described as “detailed and enlightening” operational briefings, adding that lessons from previous operations would help prevent setbacks.

Receiving the MNJTF commander, Abubakar described the visit as timely, noting that it would further strengthen synergy between Operation Hadin Kai and the MNJTF.

As part of the visit, Audu commissioned the Sector 3 Officers’ Transit Accommodation at Maimalari Cantonment, comprising eight fully furnished one-bedroom flats.

According to the statement, Abubakar said the facility would reduce unnecessary personnel movement and support officers on administrative and welfare duties, describing the project as consistent with the “Soldiers First” culture of the Nigerian Army.

The statement added that the visit featured operational briefings, interactive sessions and group photographs, underscoring continued regional cooperation against terrorism.
