Youth energy driving APC’s momentum – Mahmoud

By Sarah NEGEDU
The ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, continues to draw strength from the energy, ideas, and mobilisation efforts of Nigeria’s youth, the FCT Minister of State, Dr. Mariya Mahmoud, has said.
Mahmoud, in a statement issued by her Special Assistant on Media, Austine Elemue, said the youth population remains the backbone of the party’s electoral victories and its sustained dominance in national politics.
Addressing youth leaders from the APC North West Zone at the “Meet and Greet” for Asiwaju/Shettima in Abuja, Mahmoud described the gathering as a crucial platform for deepening engagement and strengthening internal party cohesion.
She commended the Presidential Campaign Council, PCC, and the APC youth leadership for convening the meeting, praising their consistency and organisational strength.
Mahmoud also lauded the youths for what she described as their unwavering loyalty to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima.
According to her, “Your energy, ideas, and mobilisation efforts continue to serve as the backbone of our party’s success and the sustenance of our democratic ideals.”
The minister said the North West Zone has historically played a defining role in the nation’s political evolution and the APC’s electoral triumphs. She urged the youth leaders to continue championing peaceful mobilisation, issue-based engagement, and constructive dialogue as the party consolidates on the Renewed Hope Agenda.
In his remarks, the Minister of State for Works, Hon. Bello Muhammad Goronyo, who served as Director of 2023 Youth Mobilisation for the North West, said the event was organised to bring together youth leaders who played significant roles in the party’s 2023 victory.
He noted that recognising their contributions would further energise young people to sustain their support for the current administration.
The minister called on the youths to deepen their engagement and inspire wider participation in the President’s commitment to fulfilling campaign promises to the zone and the country at large.
