Fire incident: NAIC reopens Abuja headquarters

The Nigerian Agricultural Insurance Corporation, NAIC, has resumed normal business activities at its corporate headquarters in Abuja after a fire outbreak earlier in the week that temporarily disrupted operations.

General Manager, Corporate Affairs at NAIC, Magdalene Omosimua, in a statement confirmed that full operations resumed on March 5, 2026, after necessary safety checks were conducted.

According to her, the temporary suspension of activities became necessary after a fire incident occurred at the organisation’s head office building on Tuesday, March 3.

The corporation noted that the decision to halt operations around the facility was taken as a precautionary measure to safeguard staff, tenants, customers and other occupants of the complex.

Emergency responders from the Federal Fire Service swiftly arrived at the scene and successfully contained the fire, preventing it from spreading and limiting potential damage to the building.

Following the incident, NAIC carried out comprehensive safety inspections and precautionary assessments within the premises to ensure that the environment remained secure for employees, visitors and other stakeholders before reopening the facility.

The corporation expressed appreciation to the Federal Fire Service for its prompt and professional response, noting that the swift intervention played a crucial role in bringing the situation under control within a short time.

NAIC also thanked its customers, partners, tenants and members of the public for their patience and understanding during the brief disruption to its operations.

The corporation reaffirmed its commitment to fulfilling its mandate and ensuring uninterrupted service delivery to stakeholders as normal activities resume.
