Tinubu arrives Kigali for Africa CEO Forum

President Bola Tinubu has arrived in Kigali, Rwanda, ahead of the 13th edition of the Africa CEO Forum, where he is expected to highlight the gains of Nigeria’s ongoing economic reforms and push for stronger regional economic cooperation across Africa.

According to the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, President Tinubu arrived in the Rwandan capital on Wednesday and was received at the Presidential Wing of the Kigali International Airport by Nigeria’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Bianca Ojukwu, and Rwanda’s Minister of Defence, Juvenal Marizamunda.

Others on hand to receive the President included the Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, Jumoke Oduwole, Director-General of the National Intelligence Agency, Mohammed Mohammed, Nigeria’s Chargé d’Affaires in Rwanda, Ibrahim Zanna, and the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Public Communication, Sunday Dare.

Onanuga said President Tinubu would speak at the forum on the topic, “Holding the Line: Nigeria’s Reform Bet in a Fractured World,” where he is expected to outline the benefits of sustaining the administration’s reform policies despite global economic uncertainties.

“At the forum, President Tinubu will speak on ‘Holding the Line: Nigeria’s Reform Bet in a Fractured World,’ highlighting the gains of sustaining Nigeria’s bold reforms, among other topics,” Onanuga stated.

He added that the President would also hold high-level bilateral meetings with leading African and global business executives during the summit.

“The President will also hold high-level bilateral meetings with top global and African business leaders while reaffirming Nigeria’s leadership role in shaping the continent’s future,” he said.

According to the presidential spokesman, President Tinubu will use the forum to reaffirm Nigeria’s commitment to African unity, regional economic integration, and private sector-driven development across the continent.

“President Tinubu will use the occasion of the summit to reaffirm Nigeria’s commitment to advancing African unity, deepening regional economic cooperation, and fostering strategic partnerships to accelerate private sector-driven sustainable development across the continent,” Onanuga added.

Founded in 2012 by Jeune Afrique Media and co-hosted by the International Finance Corporation, the Africa CEO Forum has grown into one of the continent’s largest annual gatherings of business leaders, investors, and policymakers focused on accelerating economic transformation and cross-border investment.

The theme of the 2026 edition is “The Scale Imperative: Why Africa Must Embrace Shared Ownership.”
