PDP names ex-FCTA Director candidate for Wukari/Ibi federal constituency

The Peoples Democratic Party,  PDP, has confirmed former director of the FCTA Development Control Department, Muktar Galadima, as its candidate for the Wukari/Ibi Federal Constituency, following a ward-level affirmation exercise conducted across the two local government areas.
PDP Returning Officer, Nuhu Agbu, announced Galadima’s emergence after what the party described as a compliance-driven process anchored on its constitution and internal guidelines. The exercise covered all 20 council wards, 10 in Wukari and 10 in Ibi, where party officials moved from ward to ward to consult members.
Agbu said the procedure adhered to the party’s rules. According to him, “The Chairmen of all the 20 wards across the constituency 10 wards in Wukari and 10 wards in Ibi alongside the designated Returning Officers, visited each ward to consult party members and stakeholders.”
He added that the ward consultations produced a uniform outcome. “At every ward, loyal PDP members unanimously affirmed and endorsed Hon. Mukhtar Usman Galadima as their preferred candidate to represent the party in the forthcoming general election.”
Agbu explained that the endorsements were presented to the party’s leadership at the state level, noting that the exercise was supervised by external observers.
“Subsequently, the PDP leadership of Wukari/Ibi formally presents the collated results and documented endorsements before the leadership of the party in the state.
“The exercise was conducted in the presence of representatives of INEC and other relevant authorities, in full compliance with electoral guidelines.
“Hon. Mukhtar Usman Galadima is officially declared as the winner and PDP candidate for the Wukari/Ibi Federal Constituency,” he added.
In his acceptance remarks, Galadima described the moment as significant, saying it ranked among the happiest days of his life. He urged residents of both local governments to prioritize voter registration and participation. He encouraged constituents to “ensure they obtain their Permanent Voter Cards, PVCs, alongside their families,” stressing that turnout would determine the constituency’s political outcomes.
Some PDP leaders welcomed the conclusion of the process, commending what they called a peaceful and transparent affirmation. They pledged full support for Galadima as the party prepares for the general election.
