APC Returns Philip Aduda unopposed In FCT Senatorial Primary

The All Progressives Congress has returned former Senator representing the Federal Capital Territory, Philip Tanimu Aduda, unopposed as its candidate for the 2027 FCT senatorial election following the party’s primary election in Abuja.

Aduda emerged as the sole candidate after one of the aspirants withdrew from the race in his support, while two other contenders were reportedly disqualified from the exercise.

The affected aspirants are Chairman of Abaji Area Council, Abubakar Umar Abdullahi, popularly known as AUA, and former FCT Senator, Usman J. Wowo.

Officials of the APC primary election committee said reports submitted by returning officers from the six area councils confirmed the affirmation process conducted across the FCT.

Deputy National Secretary of the APC, Prof. Abdulkarim Abubakar Kana, commended members for the peaceful conduct of the primary election and urged party faithful to remain committed to the party ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Chairman of the FCT Senatorial Primary Election Committee, Dr. Bogwankorton Banks, thereafter declared Aduda winner of the primary through affirmation.

“Having been elected through affirmation, I hereby declare Senator Philip Tanimu Aduda the candidate for the 2027 senatorial election for Abuja Senatorial District,” Banks said.

In his acceptance speech, Aduda thanked party leaders and supporters for the confidence reposed in him and pledged to work for the unity and success of the APC in the FCT ahead of the next general elections.
