The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, JAMB, has clarified that candidates who previously uploaded their O’Level results are not required to re-upload them or obtain a verification code under the Board’s new verification system.
The clarification follows numerous complaints and enquiries from candidates who uploaded their O’Level results during the current registration exercise, after the release of the West African Examinations Council, WAEC, results, or in previous years under the old upload process.
In a statement issued by the Board, the Ag. Director, Public Affairs and Protocols, PAP, Fabian Benjamin, Ph.D., said all candidates who had previously uploaded their O’Level results would not be required to take any further action, as their results remained valid on the Board’s platform.
According to him, the directive covers candidates who uploaded their results during the current registration exercise, those who uploaded them after the release of the WAEC results, as well as candidates who uploaded their results in previous years.
Benjamin explained that all O’Level results uploaded through the old process remain valid and will continue to be recognised on JAMB’s platform. Such candidates, he added, are therefore not required to obtain a verification code or repeat the upload.
He said the new verification process was introduced to further strengthen the integrity of O’Level results and prevent the acceptance of falsified results in the admission process.
“For candidates whose results were uploaded under the previous process, the results already available on the Board’s portal remain valid and will be subjected to the appropriate verification process by the institutions where necessary,” he said.
The Board consequently advised candidates not to panic or make unnecessary repeat uploads of their O’Level results simply because the results were uploaded before the introduction of the new verification arrangement.
JAMB assured all affected candidates that their previously uploaded results remained valid and would be available for consideration in the admission process, subject to the required verification by their respective institutions.
