Julius Berger delivers new corporate headquarters to Northwest Petroleum

Julius Berger Nigeria Plc has delivered a new corporate headquarters for Northwest Petroleum & Gas Company Limited, with Vice President Kashim Shettima and Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu among dignitaries who unveiled the facility in Lagos.

The project brings together modern office and operational facilities designed to support the energy company’s expanding operations, while showcasing the growing capacity of Nigerian professionals and companies to deliver complex projects to international standards.

Speaking at the unveiling, Managing Director of Julius Berger Nigeria, Engr. Dr. Peer Lubasch, described the headquarters as a symbol of innovation and enterprise, noting that the project was completed through close collaboration between the client, consultants, regulatory authorities and the construction team.

Lubasch disclosed that the entire design and engineering work was carried out in Nigeria by PrimeTech Design & Engineering Nigeria Limited, highlighting the depth of local expertise in the country’s construction industry.

He also said a fully unitised curtain wall system manufactured in Nigeria with Evonig glass was produced and installed by Abumet Nigeria Limited, marking a milestone in the use of local content on a project of the scale.

Vice President Shettima described the building as a statement of confidence in Nigeria’s future and the ability of indigenous enterprises to compete in the global economy.

He said bringing Northwest Petroleum’s leadership, innovation and operations under one roof would support the company’s long-term growth and strengthen investor confidence in Nigeria’s energy sector.

Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu also commended the investment, saying modern corporate infrastructure contributes to the state’s economic aspirations and strengthens Lagos’ position as a destination for business and investment.

Northwest Petroleum Chief Executive Officer, Mrs Winifred Akpani, expressed appreciation to the President of Dangote Group, Aliko Dangote, Governor Sanwo-Olu, Vice President Shettima, Mrs Bella Disu and Julius Berger Group for supporting the realisation of the project.

Staff members who toured the facility also praised its functionality, safety features, fire evacuation systems, quality finishes and construction materials.

The new headquarters adds to Julius Berger’s portfolio of corporate, commercial and industrial projects in Nigeria and underscores the increasing role of local expertise and content in delivering sophisticated infrastructure.
