
The United States Mission in Nigeria has announced a new Press Attaché, Mr. Robert Gabor.
Gabor takes over from Ms. Jeanne Clark who has ended her mission tour of Nigeria.
A media advisory from the U.S. Embassy in Abuja states that the Mr. Gabor joined the State Department in 1996 and has served throughout Asia and multiple stints in Washington D.C.
According to the advisory, the new Press Attaché previously served as Senior Advisor in the Europe and Eurasia Bureau, working on European Union, EU, issues.
“Prior to this he was the Economic Counselor in the U.S. Embassy in Hanoi, Vietnam. His earlier overseas assignments were in Tokyo, Japan; Colombo, Sri Lanka; Bangkok, Thailand; and Kathmandu, Nepal. In Washington, he has worked on multilateral economic issues involving the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) and the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) forum.”
A master’s degree holder from the U.S. Joint Military Intelligence College (now the National Intelligence University), Gabor also has a bachelor’s degree from Princeton University.
He is married Aye Aye Maw, a Financial Management Specialist with the State Department.
