The Federal Capital Development Authority, FCDA, has advised members of the public to ignore all social media claims of contract awards from the office of its Executive Secretary.
A statement personally signed by the Executive Secretary of the FCDA, Engr. Shehu Ahmad, specifically reacted to a LinkedIn account created in his name by some unscrupulous persons claiming to be awarding contracts to unsuspecting Nigerians.
According to him, “They are using it to solicit the co-operation of the public for execution of contracts in my office.
“Please be informed that those posts purportedly for procurement exercise are not from me.
“My office has a clearly defined procurement process, so I cannot on my own request for tenders/award contracts on the social media.
“Kindly disregard any requests for such as emanating from me on the social media.”
The Executive Secretary who has since reported the issue to security agencies for investigations, urged the public not to fall prey to scammers, as the LinkedIn account is designed to defraud unsuspecting members of the public.
