The chairman, Abuja Municipal Area Council, AMAC, Christopher Maikalangu, has sworn in 14 cabinet members cleared by the legislative arm of the area council.
A statement by the chief press secretary to the chairman, Ephraim Audu, said while inaugurating the seven supervisory councilors and seven special advisers, Maikalangu urged the appointees to be creative and exhibit high level of maturity, discipline and diligence in the discharge of their duties.
Audu said the chairman charged to go the extra mile to prove skeptics and naysayers wrong.
The chairman warned them against any form of discrimination, urging them to carry everyone along as well as be focused and upright.
He said “the appointees were selected to reflect the six geopolitical zones of the country in addition to their rich and uncommon pedigrees, noting that nothing short of excellence is required of them.”
Addressing the supporters of the newly sworn in appointees, he said the new advisers and councilors should not in any way see themselves as superhuman and must note that they were selected out of multitude of other qualified members of the PDP family. He charged them to be loyal to the party and reciprocate the confidence reposed in them, reminding them also that to whom much is given, much is also expected.
