The Chairman of Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, Prof. Mahmood Yakubu, has approved the deployment of 50 INEC Voter Enrollment Devices, IVED, to 14 new centres for ease of registration.
INEC’s Resident Electoral Commissioner, REC, in the Federal Capital Territory, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, who disclosed this in a statement on Tuesday, said the deployment was due to the upsurge of voters turnout in the ongoing Continuous Voter Registration, CVR, in FCT.
Bello urged voters to take advantage of these new additional centers and encouraged prospective registrants to be civil and participate in an orderly manner.
“The Commission has deployed 50 IVED machines to these new Centers. We urge voters to take advantage of these new additional Centers and encourage prospective registrants to be civil and participate in an orderly manner,” he said.
The new centres are: city center: Diplomatic Park, Area 1; Gwarinpa: G.S.S Life Camp, Wuse: G.S.S Zone 3; Kabusa: Kabusa Primary School and Lugbe Primary School; Giwa: Gwagwa Primary School; Gui: Gosa Primary School; Karshi: Karshi Development Center; and Orozo: Orozo Primary School.
Others are Nyanya: G.S.S Nyanya; Kubwa: LEA Primary School Kubwa and Dutse-Alhaji centres in LEA Primary School Dutse, L.E.A Primary School, Dawaki and LEA Primary School, Mpape.
