Following the Ogun State Election Petitions Tribunal’s decision to uphold Governor Dapo Abiodun’s victory in the March 18, 2023 Governorship Election, All Progressives Congress,APC, National Working Committee member, Tolu Bankole, hailed the verdict as a revalidation of the people’s mandate and a significant moment for the state.
In a statement on Monday by Bankole, he emphasized the importance of democratic values, stating, “The Tribunal verdict should be accepted in good faith by all lovers of democracy.” He urged all stakeholders to embrace the principles of democracy, even in the face of post-election litigation.
“Our commitment to advancing Ogun State must be anchored on prioritizing our collective progress above personal vendetta,” Bankole stressed, underscoring the need to put aside personal differences and work together for the greater good.
Bankole also extended his congratulations to Deputy Governor, Engr. Noimot Oyedele-Salako, and the All Progressives Congress (APC), acknowledging their roles in the victory.
He further congratulated the great people of Ogun State, recognizing their pivotal role in supporting the APC’s agenda for the state.
“The progress of Ogun drive of Governor Abiodun is built on equitable development and distribution of wealth across all parts of our dear Gateway state,” Bankole affirmed, highlighting the governor’s commitment to ensuring fair and inclusive development.
“The result of the governorship election, upheld by the Tribunal today, represents the will of the majority of Ogun citizens and residents who voted massively for the APC,” he continued, underlining the election results as a reflection of the people’s trust in Governor Abiodun’s leadership.
