UniAbuja to enforce quit notice on illegal markets Monday

The Management of University of Abuja has issued a notice to marketers around the Angwan Dodo axis of the university in Gwagwalada to leave before Monday, December 19, 2022.

The university, in a letter to the Chairman of the Ram, Yam and Vegetable Sellers Association, Angwan Dodo, said the land will be used for the construction of a trailer park/bus terminal.

The letter, which was dated 6th December 2022, and signed by the Registrar of the University, Malam Yahya I. Mohammed, noted that the continued use of the land by the marketers would obstruct the construction of the ultra-modern park.

“You may have noticed that work has commenced on the Trailer Park/ Bus Terminal at the Angwan Dodo axis. The present location of the market would certainly deface the ultra-modern park.

“Notice is hereby given to you to evacuate the market premise with all your goods on or before Monday 19th December 2022.”

It advised the marketers ” to contact the Directorate of Public Private Partnership Unit (PPPU) of the University of Abuja,” it said.
