Musawa inaugurates team for Motherland 2025

The Minister of Art, Culture, Tourism, and Creative Economy, Barr. Hannatu Musa Musawa, has inaugurated a committee to drive the Motherland 2025 Initiative, a project aimed at encouraging Nigerians in the diaspora to return home and invest in the country.

Speaking at the event in Abuja on Thursday, Musawa emphasized that the initiative aligns with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda and the Destination 2030: Nigeria Everywhere vision.

She explained that Motherland 2025 seeks to position Nigeria as a top global destination by boosting tourism, preserving culture, and fostering economic growth.

Key projects under the initiative include the Motherland 2025 Festival, which will showcase Nigeria’s diverse arts and culture, the creation of a Diaspora City, a hub for investment and tourism, and a Citizenship Program to help individuals reconnect with their Nigerian roots.

Musawa urged committee members to work diligently, meet project deadlines, and ensure successful implementation.

The committee includes representatives from Motherland Africa, the Federal Ministry of Art, Culture, Tourism and Creative Economy, the National Tourism Development Authority (NTDA), the National Institute for Hospitality and Tourism (NIHOTOUR), the National Council for Arts and Culture (NCAC), and the Federation of Tourism Associations of Nigeria (FTAN).

Their role is to oversee and monitor the project’s execution to ensure its success.
