The Women Leader of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in the Abuja Municipal Area Council, AMAC, Mrs. Lami Zhiwa, has passed away.
Her death was announced on Wednesday in a press statement issued by Kingsley Madaki, the Senior Special Assistant on Media and Public Affairs to the AMAC Chairman, Hon. Christopher Zakka Maikalangu.
According to the statement, Mrs. Zhiwa, who was also the aunt of Hon. Maikalangu, died on Wednesday afternoon.
“In total submission to the will of God, we regret to announce the passing of Mrs. Lami Zhiwa, the PDP Women Leader of AMAC,” the statement read.
Hon. Maikalangu expressed deep sorrow over the loss of his aunt and political ally, describing her as a “perfect gentlewoman, a unifier, and a woman of virtue.”
He added, “Her demise is a huge loss to the family, the PDP, and the entire AMAC community. We ask for understanding from everyone during this mournful period as we grieve the loss of a quintessential public servant.”
The statement concluded with prayers for the deceased: “We pray that Almighty God accepts her return, eases her accounts, admits her into paradise, and grants her family the strength to bear this irreparable loss.”
Burial arrangements are yet to be announced as the family mourns their loss.
