The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has clarified that it has not yet announced a date for the resumption of the Continuous Voter Registration, CVR.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, the Chief Press Secretary to the INEC Chairman, Mr. Rotimi Oyekanmi, dismissed reports claiming that the exercise would resume on May 27, 2025, describing them as misleading and false.
“The attention of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has been drawn to a misleading report circulating that the Commission will resume the Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) and the replacement of lost Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) on May 27, 2025.
“This report is untrue. The Commission has not announced any resumption date for the CVR. We urge the public to disregard this false narrative,” the statement read.
