Nigeria’s First Lady Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has extended the Renewed Hope Initiative, RHI, Food Outreach Programme to Kogi State, providing food items to vulnerable households and announcing ₦250,000 grants for 200 Persons with Disabilities, PWDs.
Tinubu who was represented by Wife of the Vice President, Kassim Shettima, Hajia Nana Shettima, was speaking at the Government House in Lokoja on Monday, said the initiative aims to cushion the effect of economic hardship on women, youths, and disadvantaged groups.


“The Renewed Hope Initiative is committed to reducing poverty and providing opportunities, especially for women, youths, and persons with disabilities,” she said.
She noted that RHI had already reached eight states, including the FCT, Cross River, Edo, Ekiti, Gombe, Kano, Kwara, and Nasarawa, with Delta and Oyo next in line.
The First Lady also disclosed that RHI, in collaboration with the Federal Ministry of Environment, would establish climate change clubs in secondary schools and societies in tertiary institutions to promote environmental sustainability.
Welcoming the First Lady to Kogi, wife of the state governor, Sefinat Usman Ododo, assured that the food items would reach the intended beneficiaries. She described the intervention as a significant relief for struggling households.
Governor Ahmed Ododo also lauded Tinubu’s support, stating that Kogi fully backs President Bola Tinubu’s administration.
The RHI Food Outreach Programme is part of a nationwide effort to address food insecurity and improve the well-being of vulnerable Nigerians.
