Parents to Pay More for NECO, NABTEB Exams

Parents will now pay higher fees for the National Examinations Council, NECO, and the National Business and Technical Examinations Board, NABTEB, registration, following a recent fee adjustment.

In a directive to secondary schools in Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Secondary Education Board, SEB, approved an additional N4,750 for NECO and N4,000 for NABTEB,

The directive which was conveyed in a letter to the All Nigeria Confederation of Principals of Secondary Schools, ANCOPSS, was signed by SEB’s Acting Director of School Services, Mrs. Aishatu Sani Alhassan.

“I am directed to convey management’s approval of your request to collect the balance of N4,750 for NECO and N4,000 for NABTEB, as reviewed by the respective examination bodies. You are to strictly adhere to the approved amounts,” the letter read.

The fee hike follows a request for an upward review by the exam bodies, sparking concerns among parents already grappling with rising education costs.
